To ensure against costly errors and nasty surprises, shipping large pieces of un-containerized cargo needs experience, attention to detail and the ability to anticipate issues.
Safeway Shipping has overseas offices and partners worldwide who are all equipped with the same level of experience and understanding to handle the most difficult and awkward cargoes.
This project involved loading, lashing, securing and transporting cargo from Lake Charles, Louisiana. We made two site visits in advance, and monitored the collection from siteand the loading on board, with space on the vessel occupying the equivalent of 100 20′ containers. Close liaison with the project managers, shipping line, heavy haulage supplier, port of loading and discharge, and giving progress reports to our client along the way is all part of the turn-key service Safeway.
Shipping provide through good preparation and research, we were able to transport the awkward cases by road, using a specially modified hydraulic trailer to the Port of Long Beach, instead of making a costly transshipment.
